ZIGGURAT

The gently sloping face of our medium-priced column suggested to our fanciful minds the shape of the Ziggurat. As the Ziggurat, undaunted by time, stands as a monument to the engineering genius of early man, so the Ziggurat represents the most advanced sound engineering or our day. Equally undaunted by time, its beautiful but functional shape serves to correct the unequal speeds at which the hertz ranges of its three (3) superb drivers reach the ear of the listener. The resulting audio fidelity is unequalled by anything in the Ziggurat's price range.

The Ziggurat has been designed for the listener who demands the highest standards of musical reproduction at a realistic cost.

Ziggurat

Each Ziggurat has a 3" polycarbonate dome, ferrofluid-cooled tweeter, a 4-1/2" polypropylene treated midrange and a special 10" woofer that utilizes a twin wound voice coil.

Crossover points are 900 and 6,000 Hz. Frequency response is rated at 32 - 20,000 Hz., plus/minus 2 db, and sensitivity is 91 db sound-pressure level at I meter with an input of I watt.

The speaker is recommended for use with amplifiers rated between 50 and 200 watts per channel. Nominal impedance is 6 ohms. Each speaker measures 41 inches tall x 17-1/2 inches wide x 15-3/4 inches at bottom x 12 inches deep at top and weighs 150 pounds. The cabinet has a formica slate top, oiled walnut or oak veneered side panels with a black or brown removable grill.

The design utilizes drive units which exhibit excellent transient attack and dynamic range with smooth frequency response characteristics. Most importantly, their operational ranges are controlled by a crossover network. Several steps are taken to eliminate unwanted cabinet sound colorations, some of them unique to Advanced Sound.

Special bracing and baffles are installed. Wood veneered chipboard with one (1) inch heavy damping pads on all internal panels are used.

The angled front baffle assists high frequency dispersion and results in a stable stereo image.
