Same — OR BETTER — sound quality as the
public theaters. Let's hear it!
Quality sound certainly adds to the movie experience, doesn't it? Too bad you're not guaranteed optimal sound every time you trek to your local cineplex. You can't control, for example, how cold the theater's air conditioning is running. Neither can you rely on your audience neighbor to always maintain considerate silence. As for the system — some have quality surround sound; some don't. And who reaps the unsavory results? Guess?
Now for the good news. THX, Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby Digital Sound (DDS) are available to home theater patrons. And, with the affordability brought on by advanced technology and market competition, the equipment available is particularly appealing. In reality, a properly installed home theater system often has sound superiority over its public cinema counterparts. The amplifiers used in the home are generally of higher fidelity. A home theater system is sonically better. You'll hear every gunshot, every train, every hoof beat, every word —as if you were there!
