The true movie experience. Preserve the quality movie viewing experience.
Remember when going to a movie was really a big event? People
actually dressed up to go see Gone With The Wind, Ben Hur,
and From Here to Eternity. Theaters had classy names like "Majestic,"
"Roxy," "Bijou," and "Loew's." Once inside, you
were treated to a clean, plush and sometimes elaborate environment — velvet
ropes organized the crowds, velour seats and ushers. The tall regal curtains
parted and the spectacle was about to begin. Going to the theater was a real
experience.
Welcome to 2002— the age of the "multiplex." Movie theaters
housing 8, 10 and 12 screens with nondescript names like "Movies 8"
or "Cineplex 12." No dramatic curtains. And don't expect the usher
to do anything but tear your ticket and point you in the direction of your movie.
Don't be subjected to sticky, drink spilled floors any longer — nor the
loudmouth who's "seen this movie many times before" — nor
the
kids throwing popcorn. At home, it's your theater. You call the shots.
